Hey gang!

Resting comfortably at home, day one post-foot surgery. Wondering what it looks like under the dressing and bandages. Well, not really but in a morbid sort of way like when you’re watching a really gruesome horror movie like Hellraiser and you don’t really want to look but you really can’t look away.

Mostly I’m wondering how screaming bad the pain is gonna be once the local anesthetic wears off, which should be any time now. So I have that to look forward to.

Also reading up on the painkillers I was prescribed, Percocet, aka Oxycodone 10mg. The risks of addiction, interactions, overdose and death, primarily from respiratory failure. Sounds like fun stuff. No wonder the opioid crisis is what it is. I mean, who wouldn’t want to go that way?

Opioids-R-Us.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m no newby to the drug scene. Back in the fun-loving 70s I’d put pretty much anything in my mouth, up my nose, whatever. But hey, there’s a time and place for everything and it’s called college — also the first 10 years of your career before you get married and actually have to learn how to be an adult for once.

Actually the only reason I don’t like taking opioids at night is cause I love the buzz too much to get any sleep. It’s a real novelty these days.

Anyhoo, just wanted to let y’all know I’m still alive and well, hanging in my comfy office La-z-Boy and getting a little work done before football starts and the narcotics kick in. Maybe I can push a fun drug-induced post out for Monday or Tuesday. We’ll see. Cheers!
